While people mourn the removal of the 3.5 mm headphone jack in the new iPhone 7, innovators have taken a new path to provide users with alternatives.
Apple ditched the headphone jack in its iPhone forcing its customers to go for different, more expensive alternatives. That includes using headphones with a lightning connector or hand over an additional $159 to Apple for its Airpods. People went crazy online complaining. In desperation to somehow ‘create’ a headphone jack, they even considered drilling a hole in their new phone. However, a number of great iPhone 7 accessories are now available in the market serving all kinds of purposes.
The headphone jack problem got an amazing alternative, all thanks to a startup that developed one for just $10.
Apple boasted about the waterproofing ability of the new iPhone 7 which was a great progress from the previous iPhone 6S and iPhone 6. However, removal of the beloved headphone jack covered almost all the other new features the phone had to offer. Apple soon launched a costly pair of wireless earphones. These were more design-oriented than convenience-oriented. This made iPhone users go “Why Apple?” in frustration. Apple Senior Vice President of Marketing Phil Schiller called it ‘courage’ to bring something new to Apple users. However, this act of courage did not receive a very good response from customers.
How does it work?
The iLDOCK makers have created a sleek dock with which iPhone 7 users can listen to music while charging their device. If you are one of the Apple product fanatics who has to get the new phone but dread the additional money you’ll have to pay, this can be a great option for you. The dock plugs into the lightning port on your iPhone. It is designed to blend perfectly with your iPhone’s design with a square external shape. Moreover, the hardware has colours that match your phone’s colour. It comes with a 3.5 mm earphone jack and a charging port. The hardware also has another 5-in-1 Plus model with an SD card slot. This lets you free up some space in your iPhone by easily transferring files like videos and photos.
According to Cult Of Mac, Seeking to raise just $5,000, iLDOCK has raised more than $15,000 with 28 days still to go. A $10 pledge gets you the earphone jack/charger port model. A $20 pledge buys the iLDOCK plus, with earphone jack, charging port, SD and TF card readers and a USB slot.
