iOS 10 is finally launched with its amazing features. Apple released it to the public few weeks before. It includes dozens of new features and improvements. There have been changes in the Camera, Photos, Calendar, Maps, Notes, Mail, News, Safari, Phone, Music, and Messages applications.
These features have certainly made using iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Pus and other compatible devices very easy. Here are some tips and tricks for the new iOS 10 you might find handy:
Easily optimize and manage the storage eaten up by all those audio clips and downloaded songs. Take complete control of your storage options navigate to Settings > Music. Swipe down and you will see an Optimize Storage menu. From here, you can choose precisely how much of total system storage you want music to consume.
Hide Undesired Applications
As an iPhone user, you might have many apps you do not ever use displayed on your phone’s screen. You can sweep them right off the display. However, you cannot uninstall the stock apps. iOS 10 lets you hide those apps. To hide a particular icon, long press it and hit ‘x’ and just like that, you will never have to see those obsolete applications on your desktop or screen
Open Camera from The Lock Screen
A picture perfect moment can arrive suddenly without any warning, you don’t want to miss the opportunity to capture it. iOS 10 makes it easy to quickly open your camera. Swipe left on your iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus’ lock screen and the camera will open immediately. By all means, you will never miss the chance to capture a picture at just the right time.
Turn Off Read Receipts
A user can’t decide whether or not the person they’re talking to knows they read the text. This might offend some people while others are just fine with it. However, if you’re one the former ones, iOS 10 can prove to be a blessing for you as it gives you control over the feature. All you have to do is toggle “Send Read Receipts” off after navigating to Settings > Messages.
Create A Fabulous Photo Slideshow
Memories id now in the old Photos application with the iOS 10 update. This function has the ability to create thematic movies by gathering images it deems appropriate for the slideshow. Does not matter how many pictures you have on your iPhone. The Memories feature sorts them all and views photos based on the locations and times and automatically generate video slideshows.
Renowned ridesharing apps including Uber are supported in Maps app. Owing it all to iOS 10, there are also some great improvements. All you have to do is launch Maps app, search for your destination, then tap Get Directions. Then choose the Get a ride and select your favorite cab service app that operates in the town.
Capture and Edit RAW Photos
Ability to capture pictures in Raw form and edit them.This feature added to iOS 10 can prove very beneficial not only to photographers but also for amateurs to capture amazing photos. It allows the user to edit RAW photo files in the DNG format. However, to edit the uncompressed photos, third party applications like Obscura and RAW by 500px have to be used.
Customize Your Lock Screen
Choose what you want people to see via your lock screen, what content shows up when you turn the screen on. This can be done by Settings > Touch ID & Passcode, swipe down to “Allow access when locked”, and toggle off anything that you don’t want to appear on your lock screen. You can disable apps you don’t want anyone to access without your permission including Home Control and more.
Single Tap Unlocking
Previously, with iOS 9, users had to pick their phones up and press the home button to wake the device up. Pressing and holding it for a while and it used to unlock. The new unlocking system in iOS 10, however, senses the fingerprint of an individual to open the device. Not to mention, this is proving to be more and more offensive by the day. To switch to the iOS 9 unlocking system for good, navigate to General > Accessibility > Home Button > Rest Finger to Open.
The Widget Pane
Not only can you choose the unlocking method but also widgets can now be customized very easily in the iOS 10 software update. Just swipe to the left-most on your iPhone and the widget pane shows up where you can enable, disable, or rearrange all widget just as you desire.
