Apple tries something completely new every time it initiates something. This time, it is the ‘Orchard’ Program to find best upcoming market talent.
The program began very quietly in order to seek out the next best marketing talent. In the past few days, a number of Apple employees have been tweeting about the Orchard program. It is drawing a huge number of people’s attention. They are most likely aspiring participants. Also, job listings have gradually begun appearing for the program since last few weeks. Yesterday evening, Apple made it official by announcing it on the Orchard page Cupertino created.
The moment is now. Throw everything you know out the window. All in. Head first. Join the Orchard. If you’re lucky enough to make the cut, expect to surround yourself with like-minded souls who are as terrified and excited as you are. Be part of a hand-picked team with a plethora of talent. Kick ass together. Panic together. Grow together. Work alongside the brains of all the iconic work you love from Apple.
Watch and learn. Trust your gut. Challenge our ways. Have an impact on everything you touch. Be prepared to stumble and fumble and embarrass yourself. It will be messy, and it won’t be pretty at times, but if you stick together as a team, you’ll build a special bond and something truly great will come out of it all. Take it from us. It’s the only way. Does this whole proposal sound crazy to you? Good. We like crazy.
The goal of the program is to “bring together the talented and diverse group of up-and-coming creatives to learn and grow with professionals at Apple.” as the jobs webpage points out. Apple made a program intending to educate the next generation of Apple employees once again. Just like it did back in 2011. Apple created the Apple University to teach its employees management techniques as well as the history of Apple’s problem-solving.
Conditions kept forth
According to the reports, the program will consist 10 participants in total. 4 of which will be Art Directors 4 will be Copywriters and the remaining 2, Strategic Planners. Moreover, the program will last for six months, giving all the participants the golden chance to work and grow with Apple’s marketing communications team. They will learn from them and improve their skills.
Orchards participants need to have a degree in creative communications. Or they need to have minimum three years of experience in the field. However, this is applicable in most cases, not in all of them.
Not only would the participants receive mentoring from experienced Apple employees, but also they will gain the reputation of working with the world’s largest tech giant. By all means, this can indeed be a once in a lifetime opportunity. After all 10 participants are chosen, Apple will put them through a particular set of curriculums. They will work closely with each other and will get the opportunity to look directly through the working of Apple. Moreover, Enrichment opportunities and regular sessions with leaders of Apple departments outside of marketing will also be conducted.
