British administrative ministers cannot use the Apple Watch during cabinet meetings. There is a chance they may be hacked by the Russians.
Theresa May considers it right to ban the watch from high-level cabinet meetings as that can lead to serious damage to the country as a whole. Previous Prime Minister, David Cameron, did not take any such step whatsoever. He allowed the ministers to wear the Apple watch or any other wearable if they wanted to. This is in accord to a recent report by the Telegraph.
Moreover, the British government has its point. It seems they didn’t ban the Apple watch due to some specific concerns in regard to it. It is an addition to their present policy of banning mobile phones. The PM is ensuring complete privacy and safety of the meetings.
Under David Cameron, several cabinet ministers wore the smart watches, including Michael Gove, the former Justice Secretary. However, under Theresa May ministers have been barred from wearing them amid concerns that they could be used by hackers as listening devices.
There are a number of potential hackers out there and Britain knew this quite well. To make sure that these dangers stay at a distance from Britain, the watch is now banned.
Former Home Secretary Theresa May is a controversial figure who has vowed to repeal the Human Rights Act. Among the fundamental rights is ‘right to free speech’. This, she is considering altering with. Making the rights more limited for security soon. One of the sources also says “The Russians are trying to hack everything.”
Seems it is not just Donald Trump who has an eye for catching the dangers around. Other countries are stepping up for their security taking strict meadures as well. Also, There is a chance the PM will ban all the other smartwatch brands than Apple as well. Otherwise, what’s the point in banning a product and not banning the other that can do the same thing, serve the same purpose? I do not consider it a personal conflict, which is very unlikely.
