Apple Pay caught up with the competition quick and is spreading all over the United States with over 20 more banks and credit unions now supporting it.
Back when PayPal was first launched in December 1998, its ‘impressive’ big feature was the ability to pay for things on the internet with just an e-mail and a password. Now when we compare, Paypal has grown to be a major name in online payment within nearly two decades since. It has processed over $86 billion in total payment volume during the last quarter alone. Similarly, websites throughout the internet are going to go through the same thing all over again. But this time, it is Apple taking the chance with its Apple Pay.
Users can make purchases in supported stores using their iPhone or Apple Watch with the service. Also, it can come in handy when making purchases in supported apps on iPhone and iPad. Apple Pay has shown breathtaking growth just in two years since its launch. The tech giant’s flagship mobile payment platform- which, as news suggests- is now available on the web, gains more than 1M users every single week. As Apple’s CEO, Tim Cook announced, the service is being used in over three-fourth of mobile wallet transaction around America.
Progress is unmistakable as Apple has achieved what it wanted to for a while now. Apple Pay successfully covered its tenth country, Russia and is planning to seep in more credit unions and banks as people get more accustomed it by the day. As for now, about two dozen additional banks and CUs opt for Apple pay throughout the US. Apple adds a number of regional banks connecting them with the service almost every other month since last two years. User convenience is the prime motive behind it and of course, the company’s top notch business progress in the market out there is there as well.
